Miklós Váry obtained his bachelor degree in 2012 at the specialization of Applied Economics at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Pécs. He obtained his master degree at the specialization of Economic Analyst. During his BA and MA studies he was a member of the Janus Pannonius Economic College for Advanced Studies. Between 2014 and 2017 he was a full-time PhD student in the Doctoral School of Regional Policy and Economics. At the same time he participated in the auxiliary PhD programme organized by the Pallas Athéné Domus Scientae Foundation of the Hungarian National Bank. He completed his training in 2017, he is currently working on his thesis.
Since 2018 he is a full-time assistant research fellow at the Faculty, and a part-time assistant lecturer in the Institute of Economics and Econometrics. His educational activity concerns courses in economic theory, microeconomics and macroeconomics. As a researcher his main fields of interest are macroeconomics, the economic applications of agent-based modelling and post-Keynesian economics.
He has published papers in the Hungarian Economic Review, and he won the 1st prize in the macro-modelling section of the National Conference of the Scientific Circle of Students in 2015. He is a member of the Hungarian Economic Society and the Alumni of Pécs Graduated Students of Advanced Studies.
